I got a Discover More card last December with a CL of 1000.00 and 24.9 APR. Though the APR is high, it didn't matter as I knew I'd be paying in full. It was my very first Discover card and I was thrilled to get my foot in the door. I've run about 4500.00 through the card and make several payments each month, always having it report 0.00 or a small credit balance. I kept waiting for a CLI to no avail. I thought I'd get one at the six-monh mark but no luck. Tried the luv button twice and got a message to call...the request couldn't be processed, blah, blah, blah.
Today, I decided to call. The CSR asked me how much I wanted my CL to be and I said 3000.00. Approved! After I got off the phone, I logged into my account and saw my new CL plus an APR reduction of 2 points. I also have a balance transfer offer for 0% for 12 months.
No hard pull either. Absolutely loving Discover!
No negs but high util. Util is about 50%. Working hard to bring it down. The rep also told me that when you request a CLI they use their "internal" system first and if they can't approve the amout requested, they do a hard pull.
Cain...these boards have been truly invaluable to me. I've learned a LOT from the posters' experiences and thought I'd share mine. Back when I was "credit-ignorant" I thought nothing of carrying 90 - 95% util. Now, I'm just below 50%. I cringe when I think of the amount of interest I've paid. Thank you FICO forum members! I'm aiming for AMEX BCP when util is down. My cup will run over at that point. LOL!
Congrats, I just got my new discover in the mail last night, waiting for July first to roll around so I can start getting that 5% gas bonus. I'm looking forward to my first CLI with them and plan on doing nothing that will make them regret giving that card to me.

Thank you. I'm sure you'll be just fine. The cash back adds up pretty fast and the customer service is aweome!
