Well after all this talk about AMEX I decided to give it a shot (well actually this was my 4th shot after 3 previous denials) and whaddya know, APPROVED for Amex Zync..My 3 previous attempts were for the Delta Skymiles and Starwoods card. I am officially done app'ing for a long while, Amex was the last card I wanted, I do alot of traveling for job and my company canceled our Amex corp account, so that's basically what this card will be used for. Just thought I would share my joy

Congrats! Enjoy the new card. If you still want one of their credit cards like Starwood or Delta try building some history on that Zync card for a while then apply again.
I'm just curious, what is your AAoA and how many inquiries have you had in the last 6 months. I myself have been contemplating jumping on Zync just so I can get in with Amex in hopes of getting a Blue card in the future.
I have a 3 1/2 car loan, but as far as my AAoA it's 1 1/2 years, I got 6 CC's in 10/09, then in 02/10 I opened an account with a local CU and was also given a CC with them and also took out a small personal loan. I have 11 inq's (which is why I'm done app'ing for a while), no baddies on my cr's. I believe the threads are true about getting an Amex charge card first, I was pretty shocked when I found out I was approved, only because I had 3 previous denials..
Hmm, and I have scores of 681, 685, 681, but I only make $15k a year (college student). I have a few inquiries, so I'm not sure if I should go for Zync, or just wait a year then go for Blue.
