Re: Discover initial CLI?

Should I call and ask for a cli even thou my uti is high? Cli is $1000, and I owe $900. Let me know what you think?

[ Edited ]

Did your 6th statement just hit? Mine hit a few weeks ago but my actual 6 month isn't till the 22nd (Account Open)

I'm also hoping to get mine increased. Just a student but with a 500CL my utilization can get hit hard with even somewhat simple purchases. I'd like to raise mine up to 1500. From my understanding Discover is Soft Pull online and on phone unless they deny the request. Then they will ask permission first before hard pull. I also hear they counter offer usually so your chances are probably quite good.

I'd pay down the utilization is my only recommendation.

Re: Discover initial CLI?

Yeah... Unfortunately most creditors won't increase your limit if you have that high of util. Is it at 0%?!? What's your overal util on all cards?!?
Either way, if it's a sp... No harm in asking.

you should get your utilization down before you call...  they won't really be impressed with your high balance.
