Discover offering 2% cashback on Feb 9

Just saw this when I logged into my account, you have to sign up for it like with the 5% categories. Apparently you get 2% back on anything you buy on Feb 9. Do they do this kind of thing often?

They do have targeted offers and special days about once or twice a quarter in my experience with them.

Beginning of the year they had the 2% cash back on everything. It ended on Jan 17th (i think that was the date)

I just got my card in Jan of 2013
