I just went to check Discover for apre-approval, it looks like the one they used to use has changed. Here's what I go when I entered my info. Has anyone tried the Discover pre-approval site recently? Here's the link https://www.discovercard.com/application/fmo?execution=e1s1

I have not yet applied

Here's The Card We Found For You

The Discover it card is changing the game.

Your Offer
  • No Annual Fee*
  • 0% Intro Purchase APR* for 14 months and then 10.99%– 22.99% Standard Variable Purchase APR.
  • 0% Intro Balance Transfer APR* for 14 months from date of first transfer, for transfers under this offer that post to your account by July 10, 2014 and then 10.99% – 22.99%Standard Variable Purchase APR.*
  • 3% of the amount of each transfer .
  • * See rates, rewards and other info

Unfortunately, that does look like a generic preapproval. Like another poster said, look for the word, "CONGRATULATIONS" on the Discover pre-approval site for a real pre-approval.

I got the same thing, I called Discover and they told me that pre approval come direct from the CRA and pre screened come from public sources.

Re: Discover pre-approval

Oddly enough when I do the preapproval for Discover, I get

  • 0% Intro Purchase APR* for 14 months and then 15.99%– 18.99% Standard Variable Purchase APR.

with a burgundy/maroon discover card on the top of the windowinstead of

  • 0% Intro Purchase APR* for 14 months and then 10.99%– 22.99% Standard Variable Purchase APR.

with a silver/grey card for the ficticious user with 6969 SN

Note the different range for bal transfer and purchase APR...

So they are doing *something*...

Re: Discover pre-approval

fot1. Has Discover been cluttering your mailbox lately... The paper preapprovals changed color similar to the online preapproval.... least here

Iv been getting silver discover offers untill recently.. the last 3 offers were maroon/burgundy similar to the online site..

Im wondering if they are looking you up before doing a softpull, similar to other cc issuers sites.. and if you already have a promotion offer, showing it... in addition to the soft pulls..

Sure know discover is softpulling me pretty much every time i run the web pre-qual... Thought it was amusing seeing them all on my CR.

Re: Discover pre-approval

I've been getting mailers every other week with 0% for 14 months and then 12.99%-15.99% after. I just did this to see if I got something different that you all, and it gave me the exact same terms my mailers gave me. Which makes me think that it's doing SOMETHING...

ugh I wish my income was high enough for them to approve me Smiley Sad

Re: Discover pre-approval

As long as your income is over 10k, and your UTIL is good.. you getting the 12.99 to 15.99 means you should pull the trigger on the app... Thats better than their offer to me....

You do realize income is not just what you make from work?....
