Secured vs. unsecured makes no difference; that was actually confirmed by FICO in an exchange over verbiage when they released their app.

secured to me  is more or less a self imposed stigma. I have a secured discover card and could care less how it reports. I made mistakes in the past and that word secured pretty much represents that, but big deal, I learned and moved on, I  am just happy to have the opportunity to establish a relationship and hopefully at twelve months that word secured is gone and I will feel foolish for thinking it was a big deal.
