curious how you came up with that math... can you explain?

I'm sitting at $4,300 today and it's been 9 months since I opened the card (sl $750)

Here's my math...

You JUST got the increase to 4.3k so it's 6 months to your next one.

Estimating that will be to 6.3-6.5k in 10/17

Then next CLI to 8-8.5k 04/18

Then next CLI to 10-10.5k 10/18

All assuming your FICO stays around 710+

New policies recently shifted just at the start of this month with Disco they're tightening up so many people are reporting only 6 month CLI's now even with requests.

Is there any documentation or claims to back this new policy up? I haven't seen any word of it...

What's wrong with my logic of thinking right now?

Currently $4.3k

June 2017 - 4.3k -> 5.5k

August 2017 - 5.5k -> 7.5k

November 2017 - 7.5k -> 9k

January 2018 - 9k -> 10k

Just type in the search bar "Discover CLI" and if you take the time to sift through all the posts as I have you'll find that Discover recently has been tightening up on CLI's and now are only giving them every 6 months rather than every 30-60 days.

Your logic is relying on the old policies, a year ago sure that might work, but now it's a whole new ballgame.

Just giving you my two cents, I read dozens of threads a day a few are about Discover each day, but don't take my word for it search for yourself you'll find they've been tightening up.

Is this going to affect new card approvals? Referring friends to join Discover for the 50 bucks

No clue, some speculate something Big financially is coming.

You mean will it change their UW for approving people for a new card? No.

And yes the $50 promo is still valid.

This only impacts CLI's not new cards as far as I'm aware.

Some people have speculated that something big, possibly a crash, will happen in the financial sector.

No concrete confirmations just speculation because both Amex and Discover began tightening up on their CLI's just recently out of the blue.
