another plus for discover is you can use your cashback for gift cards worth more than the actual cash back... for example they have 50.00 Buffalo Wild Wings gift cards for 40.00 cash back
Other malls also do this, so BoA has for example, $25 Land's End card for 2,000 points (whereas others are $25 for 2,500). However, Perk Central and Barclays don't seem to have this type of thing, at least not today,

Reasons why you should get a Discover
1.) Customer service is very good or even better then most lenders.
2.) shopdiscover
3.) 5 % categories rotating throughout the year
4.) Accepted in many places.
5.) As long as your credit is decent, it should not be difficult to get there cards,
6.) More/ IT are really their best cards. All the other ones are okay or meh.

Well, 4) isn't a very strong reason! Compared to what? 3) is a plus for some, a - for others.

Maybe, but in my area, most places take Discover (where I work currently, we take Discover as well.) That's what I was basing it off of. 3 is easily bested by the Freedom (but since I don't have the Freedom, or at least not yet, I'll stick to the more for now.) And yeah it can go either way for the categories each card offers.

Oh, I agree it is widely accepted, just that Visa and MC are more so.

I really wish perk central did this, my Cap1 is 2% bank on Gas and Grocerys ( read walmart) this is a good majority of my spending

Shop Discover. That's the extra $100-$200 / month right there.

The only cards I have that could get a CLI would be my Freedom and Chase Amazon but since they are HP's and since I want to save room in Chase's internal limit for my CSP card (which I will hopefully get in June
) I'm stuck having to plan my next app spree.
One of the cards that Ive not really considered is a Discover card. But I'm open to opinions on it. Why should I get a Discover card? What do people that have them like about the card and what do you typically use it for? (Daily use, online, etc.) My current targets in June are SPG, CSP, BCP, Citi Forward and maybe Flex Perk, new charge card and maybe another NFCU product.
So why should I get a Discover card?
So OP, Duncanrr, are you now convinced that you should get a Discover card? ![]()
