I'm not here often enough that my opinion should count, but I have to agree with the others. Don't close your Discover account because you weren't satisfied with the CLI - they actually gave you a huge increase based on your profile - it's not personal, it's just business. Closing it would take away all your hard work toward obtaining it, and any future business relationship with them, not to mention a great tradeline on your profile. Let the card grow, even if your other cards are exceeding what you expected from Discover. Lastly, as disappointed as you might be now, in time, you might look back on this as just another mild disappointment and be grateful you still have the card (and the great US-based CS that comes with it). JMO, for what it's worth. And I say this from someone who doesn't always get what I want and it's easy to pout, but I understand the business end on their part.

Everyone's opinion should count. Should that person care what we have to say? up to them. Personally, if you're angry enough to close an account after doing a HP and not getting the amount you want then go for it. Close it. See how far that gets you to your CL that you want.
I appreciate that, Kenny, thank you.

Closing your card is obviously your decision.
Assuming other lenders will not offer $20k+ cl or cli's - will you close them too?+1.
It's entirely up to you whether you want to keep those accounts open or closed. There's no right or wrong answer.
Since your main priority is high CLs, why not go with CUs instead?
CU's also have way better rates.
