Discover

I have one paid collection and one paid CO are almost at the 6 year mark about 1.6 years to removal. My TU FICO is 780. I always get turned down for the bad accounts. Should I just wait the time for removal?

When did you try last?  What is your AAoA?  How many of your accounts are less than 1 year old?  When I tried to CLI and spoke to an analyst Discover was very concerned about my many new accounts and the massive increase of CL within 1 year.  My success was after 15 months and a cut of opening new accounts. Good luck!

I'd suggest hitting the Rebuilding subforum and seeing what you can do about the derogs.

It's not just a matter of FICO and the CRA used.  It's also a matter of the specific scoring model used.  myFICO provides 08 scores.  PenFed uses the NextGen model which doesn't even have the same scoring range.  There's a sticky in the Understanding FICO Scoring subforum that addresses the large of number of different FICO models used by creditors.

Impact can vary by credit profile.  When I recevied my Discover and when I got my CLI's on my it I had a number of new accounts (10 less than a year old) and several CLI's as well.
