I have read countless people getting approved for Discover card.  I pulled the trigger in Feb of this year and I got declined for my bk (discharged 9/2009)

I reconed twice and both analysts were both very strict..your bk is the reason we are not approving you.

Why is it others get approved with their bk reporting

Your guess is as good as mine. It seems that a lot of banks, Discover and Cap1 come to mind, seem to treat the same profile different between different people. I wish I could give you an answer but I feel it is all based on their risk management program and they will never give us details on that.

I would assume their BK is older and they didn't burn Discover in their BK.

You'll get the approval later. You've got some awesome cards right now (I mean hell, I still can't get approved by PenFed so mega congrats on that), so garden them for a bit and apply for Discover when your BK is a bit older.
