Hello all,
Ive been trying to get a discover card since i started building credit but no luck. I recently applied for the discover it back in july and was denied due to too many new accts (chase freedom in june and quicksilver in april and barclayscard in feb) Anyways I want to know if anyone out there knows if the discover chrome card is easier to get than the discover it card?
thanks
I think the only differences is the rewards system... Honeslty I would Wait. The Freedom card is great since it has basically the same 5% categories as the Discover card but I find the Q4 with Discover is better imo
Based on my experience with Discover, I would have to say more than likely no it's not easier to get. If they have denied your app for the IT so recently, they are more than likely going to deny you now... but of course this is no guarantee. You have more inq's now, your AAoA would have decreased with all the new TLs, etc. Is it really worth a HP so soon after you already applied for a Discover card?

The difference between the Chrom and the regular it, is in the Rewards and cash back. If you have the rigular Discover it, you can convert to the Chrome at anytime.
The Discover chrome card has no rotating categories. It has 2% cash back on gas and restaurants standard without signup and 1% on everything else. You can earn extra points buy shopping through shopDiscover. Discover IT has the rotating categories and 5% cash back each quarter. Discover chrome is similar to Discover student card.
How about both?? Eventually someone will try to get one for a extra Discover BT or some other offer.

For that matter, has anyone tried to get a second Discover It card?

I know when the IT came out...people had a MORE and IT card instead of calling to change the MORE to IT. Two IT cards seem pointless to me. Even if one is offering 2% cash back on gas and food all the time.
Well They told me on phone yesterday. cannot have it and chrome. but i could have Discover it and discover more card at same time.
that card is worse. .025 of 1 percent until you spend 3000 bucks. then base is 1 percent
The discover it is the best hands down.
i would def wait it out OP you already have the freedom and thats a better card. However, The IT card is much better than the chrome card. I dont understand what discover was thinking with the chrome card.
