Do I dare???

I was just approved for the wal-mart store card last month and I have used it alot already and pay it off bi-weekly. My limit is only 600.00. Right now I have a current balance of 190.00 and I will paying it off today. I got the email of No interest if Paid in Full within 18 months for an electronics purchase of 429.00 or more. One of the Christmas gifts I was wanting to buy is at Wal-Mart and is over that amount. I would love to take advantage of that offer but I don't want o go that close to the limit. Do I dare and call to ask them for a cli with the card being so new? They upped my Old Navy limit from 250.00 to 600.00 and just approved me over the weekend for a sams discover for 1800.00. I looked on the Sams' website and they do not offer the same deal. Would I be pressing my luck? Do you think they would approve an increase this soon? Just a bump to 1000.00 would be all I would need.

Re: Do I dare???

I don't think asking for a CLI ever hurts unless you know for sure they would do a hard pull. I think you are safe

Re: Do I dare???

I would call the back door number, tell then what you want to do (promotion) and ask them.

My guess is they would give you the higher limit on this - since you are going for one of their promotions.

Good luck and let us know.

That is exactly what I did and they approved it! I asked for 1000.00 and told them I wanted to take advantage of the promtion and that they were my favorite card so I did not want to max the card out with a purchase. She came back and said yes!! I am so excited!!! :catvery-happy:

Re: Do I dare???

If you go to the walmart credit card page, you can still print off the interest free coupon thingy that the cashier has to scan  :catvery-happy:
