Why is everyone SO Nervous to ask for what you want... They are doing a SP and manually looking at your credit, you asking for $800 or for $5000 is not going to change them saying I won't give you anything... I want them to say Im sorry I can't do $5k, Do you think you would still do business with us if I do $3k? I don't want them to say $800, DONE!

I am just a nervous person! I would have been nervous whether I asked for an extra $100 or an extra $3000, so I just asked for what I wanted. Maybe I will work up the courage to call about my Amazon card next week. I hate the smaller limits..not because I need the extra credit but seeing limits that jump all over the place bug me. I am very OCD and prefer things more uniform. Capital One is really getting under my skin big time.

I guess I get nervous because I am new to this and still feel alittle undeserving from being told no for so long. I didn't know if they would counter offer or not. I wanted to shoot for 1800 since ge opened my sams discover for that last weekend but I felt like they would shut me down altogether. I'm making progress though...there was a time I would have not called for a recon or cli
I would call back and be like I got a little up the other day but then I thought about it and I got approved much higher Sams Discover and I thought I might be able to use the promo at walmart with that card but I can't, i would like to be increased to at least the $1800 of that card and why can't I get the Walmart Discover if I got the Sams Discover?? ![]()
i have not heard that they can convert and i wouldn't apply but I would at least get the match of 1800 if not beat it 2500~

You are doing great. Any CLI on an existing account, especially one that does not require a hard pull, is a good thing. You could always call back at a later time.

Wait four months and try again! Funny thing though I called for a CLI on my JCP card in September and got a no. I signed on to make a payment today and saw I was given a CLI of $200 on my JCP. Hey $200 is better than nothing especially since less than 3 weeks ago I got a no?

I was able to get $1000 increase to $3000! Only took about 5 minutes! I just told them I wanted to use the special promotion and that I wanted to still be able to get the 15 cents off per gallon of gas. I've been using it heavily since they introduced the promotion.
