I got back in with a 672 on EX. But you do have a lot of recent INQ. You could always try for a charge card if you're trying to get back in with AMEX. I decided just to go for my BCE and then go for a PRG if I didn't get instant approval, in the hopes of using the same HP. As it turns out, I got my BCE.
I got my Amex TE with a 639 EX Fico after seeing a mail in offer, for some reason I thought it was a pre-qual but it was just an invintation. Luckily I got accepted too.
I dunno.
I got a PRG with a lower score and a few more baddies. My score was about 10 pts lower than yours. While I'm glad I'm in, I don't think I'll be able to get a revolver right away, at least it gives me time to work on my EX and grow it over the free year I have with the PRG.
You can always try for a charge card that's offering a free year, and then a revolver right after if approved to gauge where you are with them. At least your member date would be locked in.
@norhplatter wrote:I was able to get AMEX in January with Exp score of 641, which because of inquiries has dropped to 600. I did the 60 cli and was turned down. I called and asked for second consideration, turned down again. Letter stated I didn't have enough credit history, pulled through transunion. It also said my amount owed to CL was to high. I am now disputing it because transunion says ON THE REPORT they have tracked me since 1976, and my actual utilization is about 1%.
Is it just me or all the lenders seem to pull TU for all their card holders CLI's.....this includes barclay, IT, Boa, with the exception of Cap1(EQ).

I used to have my foot in the door with AMEX, but later I broke my foot while I was in it........via BK, lol.
God knows I wanna get back in with them. But every1 is telling me that, I gotta wait at least 6,7 yrs (if I'm lucky)

Should I just wait another year or so?
I'd suggest addressing those derogs first versus just relying on time. Visit the Rebuilding subforum.
@Jon85 wrote:Also, do they recon?
Generally only if there's incorrect data involved.
@navistar wrote:what is the big deal about amex?
"Big deal" is subjective. Review their products and see if any are suited to you versus relying on hype. Or be very clear on what you need/want if you want recommendations.

It's misplaced causality. The CRA(s) pulled depend on the creditor and the region. I've had plenty that didn't pull TU.

IMO absolutely nothing, closed all my AMEX accounts last year.
I was instantly approved for a blue card with about the same stats quite a few more HPs though.
