Do Open Disputes Hinder CC Approvals?

I am about to app for an Amex charge card but I am not sure if an open dispute will factor I to the decision. Has anyone had experience with this, or know if it has an effect?

They never have for me.   Mortgage lenders care about accounts not being disputed but I've never seen it be an issue with CCs.
