Does AU = Participant on account???

I was just reviewing my newest credit report and I see that a store card has me listed as "participant on account" rather than authorized user. The wording concerns me because it sounds more like a joint account. I never applied for credit with them, but I was added as an AU.

I'm sure it is just different wording for an AU account.
