My mom put me as an authorized user when i was a teenager to help start my credit. Its going to fall off my credit report in the next year or so (10 years).
I don't think I'd be approved for any AMEX now, but should that be my goal before my AU amex reporting expires? It would help my AAOA tremendously.
The old account was closed and paid on time. Would it help me gain an AMEX? Will it be backdated?
Thank you
My scores are mid 600's, 3 oooold baddies, 4 years on time, no collections, 50k income.
YES, Getting the Amex would help because it would backdate... I think you should have no issue getting a Green or Gold Charge Card... I would get Gold since it's free for first year and gives good bonus but if just wanting for backdate, go for green... might also be free first year.... you have WAY more and better credit by looks of siggy then my roomie and he got instant approval on green.

Whaaaaaaat? You think? I didn't mention I have like 12 inq
HURRY and apply before you have some credit inq crazy tell you not too! I don't think Amex cares when it comes to Charge card... but again give it a few and someone will say im wrong wrong wrong! LOL
What's 13? Besides, the point is Amex has a weird, scary, and usually AMAZING computer that does things to your credit report to decide if they approve in under 60 seconds that it makes your head spin and I VERY firmly believe that it picks up in .2 seconds that you are a 10+ year customer and takes your app up SEVERAL pegs on if it can approve it or not and I think it would approve it regardless just because it's picking up your huge credit lines elsewhere!
