Does Amex let you move credit lines?

Does Amex let you move part of your CL on 1 card to another card like Chase does? I recently got approved for their Hilton card w/ $4,500 CL & right after I got approved for the Starwoods card w/ $2,000 CL. Would prefer it the other way around especially since I have to charge $5K on the Starwood card inorder to get the signup bonus.

Re: Does Amex let you move credit lines?

Yes you can, however they have a little stipulation that will prevent you at the moment. When moving a credit limit, the from account must be open for at least 13 months AND the receiving account must be open for at least 60 days. I'm not sure why they have this rule, but I am waiting for the same thing right now. I think Starwood is a much better card so I am right there with you!

It's easy to do.

You can move the limits your self online via their website.

Re: Does Amex let you move credit lines?

Yup. There is some minimum limit you need on each card though, I think it's $500. So still can't completely merge credit limits/TLs as I understand it.
