Does Chase 5/24 rule count if you close the accounts?

I opened 2 store cards in january of 2015,  if I close those accounts do those still apply towwards the 5/24?  Those 2 cards put me exactly  at 5 in the last 24.

Closing accounts will not help you. However, sometimes recon agents are willing to overlook the store cards if you are denied for 5/24

Yes they absolutely count towards 5/24. Doesn't matter if they are currently open or not, all that matters is that you opened 5 accounts in the last 24 months.

All above is true. That might be a bargaining chip if you go in branch and state you closed store acct to look better to open a Chase account and then let them scold you… and hopefully approve you.

There's multiple threads of walkins success. I hope they continue. Id love my own crack at it 😀
