Does Chase counter offer CLI requests?

I've searched the baord but I haven't found a conclusive answer. Does anyone have experience with Chase countering their CLI request?

Yes. At least for me. Way back I asked for a CLI on a regular Freedom when I had one. My credit line was $4500. When I applied for the CLI lending asked me what I was looking for. I asked my new credit line to be 10k. They said no but offered to boost it to 6k. Of course I said yes.

I got a counter in 2014, but haven't asked since then.
