The decision whether or not to report AU status on a customer's account is totally discretionary with the creditor, so "proof" that they may have done it in the past would not compel them to continue such a practice. I would contact them and ask about their current policy. Only they can tell you the conditions. Some have discontinued AU atatus except for immediate family members, so the fact that another tells you they were denied might mean they did not qualify for specific, rather than general, reasons.
