It's much more annoying when Discover and Freedom have the same categories in the same quarter! It does help, however, that Starbucks counts as a Restaurant on Freedom, as I found out from a post from a wonderful member here!
The Freedom card and other rotating cards don't often cover any useful categories for me. Even when they have, one of my other cards usually has 5% for it anyway. I also don't like having cards that get used infrequently, every card I have now gets used multiple times per month.
I'm actually warming to it, finally, after finding out about the 10 points per swipe, 10% points bonus that I get for having a Chase Checking account also.
So on my $2.16 coffee charges at the work cafeteria, where it codes as Dining, I'm now getting 21 points. 21 cents instead of 10 cents, if I used Discover. It adds up!
I've started letting it be used for small dollar transactions, just to take advantage of the remaining time when the 10+10% remain.

Or any card that has "rotating" categories and not a set category with a set reward? I guess 5% is worth the additional attention but I don't think I could keep up. I just keep seeing everyone giving it rave reviews but that would give me a headache
Its only four quarters. its really not that hard to keep up with. Love the x5 on restaurants and grocceries. Plus its no AF.
It's a great card. You just have to check the top ones that you need to use for a few months. Since I get their emails, I just keep those cards in my iPhone case & I'm good to go.

Discover Checking is 20c on every transaction right now. That $1 twix just became $.80
Competitive, aren't they?
Gotta laugh at that one!

20 cents? 10 cents is what Discover advertises. Do you know a secret that I don't, Nix?
