I suppose since we are married that the criminal route is probably a no go.  Nobody is going to believe that, right?  It's probably never happened where divorcing spouses charge each other with identity theft successfully.  I need to be realistic.

 

She is removed as AU.  I would imagine that all of this would be part of divorce court, not criminal court, right?

Yes, Divorce Court. One of the fun aspects of DC is unwinding all those joint accounts. And if your ex has a tendency to "forget" to remove your name from applications for credit, that takes some special advice. I was fortunate not to have to deal with that, but then I was the one paying child support, so that kind of gives the child support payer some leverage anyway.
