Called the customer service tonight  (applied on Saturday/6 days ago).  They said I was approved with CL of $5K.

Kind of bummed.  Expected and needed a much higher CL.

I am considering calling back to cancel as this won't help my UTL much, nor give me much to work with for a BT on my other cards.  Has anyone cancelled before they obtained the card ?

This is what they saw when they pulled EQ on 12/14:

EQ MYFICO 676
REV UTL 47% / REV CL 22,390

High Income, no baddies ex. BK7 in 2005.

Sorry but I can't see them approving you or expecting anything higher considering how close you are to 50% in utilization.  That's quite abit of revolving debt relative to your limits.  Other posters have gotten approved for much less!  For optimal results, you would need to lower that utilization considerably, which seems to also have an impact on your scores.

For the profile you have listed I would say that 5K is pretty generous. I would not cancel the card you need all the help you can get with your high util and you have already taken the hit for the inquiry. In the future I would advise that you pay down all your cards to less than 10% util prior to apping. Good luck Smiley Happy

Re: Duck card approval profiles

On a whim, I applied.  Not expecting approval, but I was curious just how accepting they may be.  Got the 7-10 day message.  If I happen to get approved, I'll be sure to post the details.

Re: Duck card approval profiles

Don't post here often but I thought I would share my duck experience.  I app'd on 12/19 an got the congrats you're approved.  I called almost immediately after the application and found out I was approved for 20k. I was not expecting such a high limit with my next highest card being an old Citi Forward sig card @15k.  I'll share my score details as soon as I get my letter.  Good luck to everyone applying, they seem to a great cu to get a decent limit from without having to join.
