Call them

Before you app think...
Have you done your research of the CC?
Does it fit your spending?
Do you have a plan for the bonus w/o going into debt?
Can you afford the AF?
Do you know the cards benefits? Is it worth the HP?

Re: Enharu, Creditaddict, and other CC gurus.

Your work travels are paid for by the government, but you still have personal leisure trips to pay for on your own I would assume. In that case you should get a loyalty card or transferable points card because you will rack up miles very quickly. If you don't mind paying annual fees, I would suggest the SPG which is awesome for both hotel stays and flights. And you definitely should get an Amex card for extended warranty and easy transaction dispute if nothing else.

Well, looks like  you already got the BCE anyway. BCE + SPG may be all you need for now ...

But, if you also travel abroad, you may want to consider a card without foreign transaction fee. May I suggest CSP (and couple it with the Freedom)? Or if you'd rather not pay an annual fee, consider Bankamericard Travel Rewards card.

Just got the Chase Freedom for $6K.   Only did it because the DW told me too.  I fought with them for 6 months to get COs off my CR, and that wasn't that long ago.  They were the last of the baddies I"ve had in the past to approve me for new.

Yes,,, don't actually spend that much.  DW does 90% of the spending in my household.  She has her own accounts.  Ok.. truth be known, she does about 98% of the spending.
