So I find myself filling out an INK app at a branch when I was in depositing some money for my business checking.
My "banker" assures me I'll have no trouble receiving a card. So I pull up my TU and EX reports, print them and have him give them a look. He says "Great!" I make it clear that if I'm taking a hard pull I'll take his word for it. I begin filling out the paperwork for the card while he calls in and speaks to a business credit analyst.
It's a no-go.
He hands me the phone and a rather unpleasant (surprised me) analyst tells me my request won't be granted due to my AAoA. Which is just under 2 years. I hand the phone back to the "banker" and he and the guy start kinda arguing. It was weird.
So, now I have a fresh hard pull on EX and nothing to show for it.
I ask him if he can call and at least have me considered for another card such as a Freedom or something. He says he will- and will call me later that day and let me know. That was last Thursday and nothing.
Can I call the recon line and ask them to reconsider for a Freedom card or something so the hard pull isn't wasted?
Any and all advice is appreciated!
Lesson: I should've listened to my instinct and remained in the garden for 6-12 more months before applying for anything.
EDIT: According to EX my AAoA is: "Your average age of accounts is more than 7 years and 8 months."
call the EO
Thanks for the reply. What do I say? That I applied for a business card and now I want a Freedom?
Do you just have the 2 cards I see in Sigi but a 770 credit score???
Call backdoor number yourself again... they won't grant credit with 770 Id close my accounts and move banks! UGH
oh and stick to the INK app... they can't turn it into a personal freedom app. fight for the ink product.
Thanks Credit Addict.
A part of me thinks I drew theee most unpleasant person as a decision analyst. I think I agreee with you that I need to fight for the INK. I just don't want to walk away empty handed. :-)
Ask them to pull TU? with the recon
@bribro:
"You wouldn't want to make him a liar, right?"
Classic! Thanks for the smile. I'm calling them in a bit. I'm crossing my fingers :-)
