If you're new to credit, it'll be very hard to obtain a rewards card. Why don't you try their platinum card (the one with no AF)?
I read that one was the one for limited history! aaaahhhh...should I try to apply for that one instead??
I was just approved for $1200 CL on the Amazon card so I thought I would have a shot at the Cap 1.
If you have whats commonly referred to as a "thin file" (not mcuh in your credit history) they do have a "newcomer card"... they have a pre-qualify site on their main page, that MAY be an indicator as to what they MIGHT extend to you... they have 2 different cash rewards cards, one is for average creditand the other for excellent credit... before you go crazy applying remember that they pull ALL 3 buresus and inquiries can lower your score each time you apply... their prequalify link will not affect your score..
Sorry I don't want to jack this thread.
I tried the pre-qualify link and after entering my info it always says "couldnt match records" Shrug
I would avoid applying for anything CAP1 after this. CAP1 is one of the few lendes that pulls 3 CR when they consider you for any of their cards.
@ sitori, remember you "want" to add something, but credit should be a matter of "need"... are those scores in your signature fico scores ? you may do well to hold out a little longer and try the Discovecard "pre-qualify link" . If those are real ficos, you may break the 700 mark before too long resulting in better overall odds of being approved for a "prime" card

yes it is a matter of need...I NEED history, that is all. lol
How do I know if they're FICO? They're from my most recent credit report. I think I can pull it up and see what it says exactly....

You can only get a FICO score from a lender or here at myfico.com. Scores offered direct from the credit agencies are not FICO scores but FAKO scores.
Ok here...this is what it says...
TU FICO CLASSIC 04 -- 685
EFX FACTA BEACON 5.0 -- 689
XPN/FAIR ISAAC MODEL II -- 639
Sooooo what does all that mean? lol The only one that is FICO is the TU?
