I recieved this offer also not recently though a while back I think this offer also is not good one discover wants you to spend ALOT of money for only $500.00, with their required spending discover should be handing out alot more money, for example with chase bank with the sapphire preferred I recieved 50,000 points conversion to $500.00 and only had to spend $3,000.00 which is a much better deal:smileywink:

With Chase, that's just the welcome bonus. This offer is after the account has been established. I wouldn't really compare the two.

But the Sapphire Preferred bonus is SWEET!

Discover is really weird... they want you to spend a lot, which is why they always send you those darn blank checks to use for cash advances...

discover bank, do you really want us to act stupid and immature and withdraw cash from a credit card?? Whatever happened to Just Say NO!

Re: Exclusive $500 offer from Discover

If you look at the interest charged on the cash advance checks they offer, they have some of the highest interest rates of the  prime credit cards
