Last year I googled info on applying for multiple cards at the same time to minimize possible inquiries. Tactics like the 2 and 3 browser method were discussed in the sources I read about. Of course nothing is iron clad or overly simple but people did state successes with this method with the right combo of cards.
Fast fwd to now and I am getting the app itch. My last 2 cards were from 7/12. My reasons for this urge are various: Scores are strong, utlilizations are low, inquiries within the last 12 months are fading, some old accounts are falling off so I need to plant some seeds for future AA0A and continued high total accounts. Then, of course, there are those AWESOME sign up bonus offers!
I'm looking for feedback and experience from others on how mutliple apps affected their reports in terms of inquiries with the following:
-Chase Ink and Chase Freedom/Sapphire preferred. 1 inquiry or 2? Being that it's a business and personal, I wasn't sure how that would end up on the CR.
-Amex Gold Biz and Premier Rewards Gold. 1 inquiry or 2? Same logic as Chase.
SPG Biz and Personal. 1 inquiry or 2?
I have read people saying how business and personal may not work but I do indeed remember when applying for any cards I have that the inquiry doesn't state business next to the creditor. So, I don't see how or why it would matter.
Any experience shared would be most appreciated. :-)
