Very interested in obtaining a unsecured card from Navy Federal Credit Union! My EQ FICO is a digit or two below 600. Im wondering if they offer a unsecured card that can be obtained within that score range or is there nrewards secured card my only option?
I believe I was at a 580 when approved for the cashRewards.. with a $7K CL. I don't know if time is a factor, but I've been a member since '83.

It's been well documented that NFCU approves members with scores below 600. It may not be much but it is definitely YMMV.

I think you would have a pretty good chance. May not be instant, I'm waiting to hear back from them on my app.
Any baddies on your CR?
I got 10K with a EQ 634 with an instant decison. I also had 1 Collection from 07' and had a very high util at the time of the application. I felt I had a shot at something because I read the consent and it stated they will counter-offer another product if you are declined. YMMV and good luck!
pulse+income=NFCU approval!! Good Luck i am sure you will be fine.
Thanks, been a member since '01.
Had 7 baddies, down to 2. I have a 5 mo old Cap1 secured (credit ut 30%), never late. I was going to apply for the secured, but I think after all the positive responses I will try for the unsecured. Maybe I should get one more month (May) of the Cap1 reporting and try to get my uti down to 10%. My ultimate goal is approval for a car loan in mid June through Navy Fed, so I was thinking the card would look good as far as establishing a relationship with them!
