Thats very encouraging! They usually pull EQ right?
Some have had TU pulled but for me they have always pulled EQ
I have seen for a fact that one of my friend, still in the Army had an EQ FICO of 605 and got a $5K CL on the nRewards when he joined. He had about 2 collections reporting and his most recent late was a year ago.
They pulled EQ for the card and TU for the car loan but if you recon a CL, they HP again generally on TU. I have never seen them pull EX; maybe they do.
Good luck

NFCU pulled EQ for my CC app and for the NavCheck.
Good luck and keep us posted with the results!
I'm right around the same scores and am in the same predicament. I'm wondering is it more beneficial to just go into one of the branches and talk to them personally? I'm probably about 15 minutes away from the nearest branch.
My scores were between 570 - 600 across the board when I applied for the Visa Platinum. It was a $500 limit but was increased to $1,000 when I requested a PC to the cash rewards. I applied shortly after becoming a member and had not set up any direct deposits or savings at the time.
I did everything online/via phone with very helpful customer service reps. Not sure about your local branches but mine are typically packed on any given day and not sure it's worth the hassle just to apply for a cc. You'll probably get approved. If not send a private message to recon explaining your circumstances. Worked for me.
Good luck!
I don't know if it was the time of day I went but the branch I went to looked dead almost. All the loan officers or whatever they are called were busy but nobody was waiting and there was no line for the tellers. That's a good idea though blunderer. I might take the plunge or try to wait for this medical collection I just paida week ago to update or come off.
My credit score was sub 600 when I was initially approved for 1.5k cashrewards and 3k navcheck. It's been just over 6 months and my cashrewards is now 2k and navcheck just bumped to 7.5k. My EQ score was 596 for the CLI pulls due to high utilization and short history. Navy Fed has been good to me...like most you'll hear from here.
Just to add to what some have already stated, I was below 600 when I was approved for nRewards with a 1K limit. I started with the secured nRewards card first though and had that for about 10 months or so. Looking back, I probably could've just went the unsecured route to begin with.
