FYI- If you haven't upgraded to quicksilver yet, you should

A few weeks ago I decided to PC my Platinum MC rewards card (2% gas and groceries, and 1% everything else) over to the Quicksilver with 1.5% rewards. Although I didn't consider this to be an upgrade, the CapOne rep. referred to it as an upgrade. I am now glad that I did this because I received a letter in the mail yesterday stating that my Platinum MC was being changed over to the Quicksilver and that the rewards program was changing also to 1.25% on everything.... Of course, I was upset and called CapOne immediately. Smiley Surprised  I was transferred over to a rewards specialist who explained that my rewards are 1.5% and not 1.25% since I requested an upgrade a few weeks ago. The letter that I received was already in process and they were not able to stop it from being sent out. The rewards rep. was very apologetic.  I'm not sure why the rewards were different. My capone card was my first card that I got when I began rebuilding and it was a steps-program card originally (200-500cli). So that may be why the rewards were set to be 1.25% and not 1.5% but not sure...  Anyway, I am sure glad that I initiated the PC (AKA Upgrade) myself!Smiley Happy

Hmmmm... I received a letter the other day about the change over, but it stated that my rewards would be at 1.5%. I thought that was standard for the Quicksilver.

Wow..I had the 2% 2% 1% card also until I received a letter on Monday saying that rewards structure is ending entirely next month. Luckily they allowed me to PC it to a Venture WMC, which made me feel much better...

I thought so too- In fact, I was wondering if there was just a mistake in the letter (typo) but the capone rewards rep. did not indicate this.

Update and correction: I just went back and read the letter. It stated that my rewards structure was changing from 2% groceries and gas, and 1% everything else to 1.25% for everything. Quicksilver was not referenced in the letter as I thought.  So, I guess, my rewards were going to be downgraded with the Platinum MC and I actually did upgrade since now I have 1.5% with the Quicksilver.

Yeah I got this letter too. I have the 2% gas & groceries 1% everything else. I call and the rep was playing stupid saying he didn't see the letter and asked if it had there letter head on it. It's changing Nov 18. He said I can upgrade to quick silver one card but not the quick silver or venture one. Are these lame cards? He knew I wasn't happy and said I can keep my card the way it is but I don't believe him. I guess I'll have to see.

The letter I got said the date for the change to take affect was Nov. 18 too!  I don't think the regular reps. know much about this. I was transferred to someone in their rewards department (rewards specialist?). Did the rep. give you a reason as to why you could only get the quicksilver one and not the quicksilver?

Try the EO. You might have success with PC that route.  Although, I didn't have to contact the EO for the PC, I had to for limit increases after reaching 500 (steps program).  I tried the regular route but was denied increases every time but the EO increased my limit from 500 to 5000 (first request) then to my current limit of 7,500 last month.
