Read on here in several threads that the Macy's Club & Special Event Accounts (jewelery/furniture) were SP separate trade lines. Just an FYI:
Two weeks ago I was approved for $4100 each line and never received any notifications via my report monitoring of any pulls... I assumed the SP was legit. Yesterday while in the store I purchased a watch. The sales associated had to call in for verification and handed the phone to me and I was asked a couple identity questions by the CSR. Figured this was standard procedure for security. This morning I received an alert that I have a HP on EX from Macy's dated 11/16 (yesterday). Called Credit and spoke to a CSR who stated that when I first use the Tradeline I get a hard pull.
Doesn't really make sense to me because two weeks ago they approved me after a few seconds on hold for two lines @ $4100 each. How did they come up with that number if not from some credit report already on file (SP)? Why wait to the day I actually make a purchase to HP me??? Very odd... Guess I won't be using that furniture account anytime soon
I opened my Macy's store January 2014 with SL $400 as of today it's at $2,500 for revolving acct
Opened Special Event Account April 2014 for $5,000 limit was a SP. Didn't use it til August 2014 , No Hp. And account isn't reporting.
opened Club account May 2014 For 2,300 limit with SP. Account reported before I got to even use it. I used it in July. No HP.
Applied for Macy's Amex July 2014 with a HP. After a week past found out I was declined. Received a letter a week after that stating
" You'll be glad to know Macy's has contacted Experian to have credit inquiry removed from your reports." Don't know why they removed the HP but I'm not complaining
Thanks... after reading your experience and it being a SP I decided to call the BDN for Macy's found in the threads here. Spoke to a Credit Analyst and stated my case in logical, sequential order. She had to get a supervisor involved but finally came back and said the inquiry would be removed and I'd receive a letter in the mail confirming it. Really glad I called again..
Omg, that's great news. Make sure to hang on to your letter. Allow 45 - 60 days to come off from when you get your letter.
it didn't take long for mine to come off but still allow a decent amount of time. Please, hold on to the letter just in case things don't go right. Thats
your proof you can provide EXPERIAN if needed but I doubt you will have to go that far.
Thank you!! Definitely will hold on to it. Really appreciate your advice
Your more than welcome, that's what we all are here for!!
