Feasible to get an old Barclays account reactivated?

In 2005 when I was coming home from the middle east, having not been around females for a year a cute girl approached me and told me if I signed up with her airline I would get 50,000 miles or something like that. Naturally I stumbled out... uhhhh ok good looking. Before I knew it I had signed up for a credit card, not what I had anticipated and I immediately cancelled it when I realized what happend. It does show on my credit report, and having found these forums and learning more about AAoA I would love to get that account reactivated and get a good another 8 year old account on my record.

Has anyone done something like this? Was considering calling a backdoor number and asking to reactivate the account or I believe it is called PCing it to a new card?

I wouldn't waste any time on it. There is no way they will reopen the card. The account number may have even already been assigned to someone else. Even if they do reopen it, don't expect them to report it as opened all the way back then.
