I am so used to using Amex card for every thing. It feels so strange not having the Amex Card in my wallet.
I would give it some time and re-app for one of their cards.
I just read through the thread regarding the FR. I'm so sorry that you've been put through this. FWIW, I do think that 3 times in as many years is over the top. Personally, I think that you did the right thing -- JMO.
Don't feel too badly, though. After all, you have many other card options. And if you do want back in with Amex, I've no doubts that you can reapply before long and be accepted.
Have you gotten the shakes yet?
I nearly pulled the trigger on a green Amex card, but stopped myself at the last second. I have other cards with better rewards and no annual fees and I'd rather hold out for the BoA Accelerated Rewards Amex.
i don't have one either

I read somewhere the other day that a CSR told someone that a BoA or Macy's AmEx is not really an AmEx card and cannot be used for backdating. If you don't already have one you coulld always apply for one of the Revolvers.. (They use the AmEx Network with a license but the bank backing them isn't Centurion or FSB)
