For those that had/have both which do you prefer? I'm looking to get one or the other. In my area amex is accepted pretty much everywhere so that's not an issue. How are the rewards redemption for both? What are the requirements for both? Currently I have 730, 743, 746 no baddies aaoa is over 5 years and util is 7% oldest account is 11 years.

You'll need a fidelity account for the rewards so unless you really want an Amex or hate citi I would go with the double cash. You get 1% on purchases and 1% when you pay the balance.
I got got mine in May and my scores are similar but I have more accounts AAoA is worse and I have a lot more inqs. I would say you'll have a good chance at it

btw i am sure you're fine for both. honestly. Amex will give a better limit if that is of any importance to you
It's not an Amex card but Bank Of America I believe is the bank behind it. Amex is the network it uses.

never had either but fidelity is no nonsense 2%, the citi has a little bit of stipulations to get the 1% as you pay. keep that in mind. do yourself the favor and look up the reviews on credit karma of the double cash. just search "double cash reviews" and credit karma has a ton. you get the most honesty out of that
Meh reviews. They can say whatever they want but I never had an issue with mine

my bad on my mistaken info
Either way I think he will get a better limit with the fidelity . Bank of America, and Amex cards are my highest limit cards.
Bank of america mlb card: $10,000
Amex everyday: $12,000
thag being said idk how the fidelity works since I have never owned one. I would think it's better limits because of the bank behind it.
my citi cards limits are
thank you: $7,300
simplicity : $5,400
double cash : 3,700
Apart from FTF (which hardly matters as you want to use a card without one), a big difference is in the minimum redeption. Citi is $25, Fidelity is $50. So partly depends how much non-category spend you have. If you have a lot, it really doesn't matter, if it's smaller, you may have to wait several months before redeeming with Fidelity.
I have both, and they are fine, but they are mainly S/D for now with Discover Miles giving 3% the first year.
