Hi!  Welcome to the myFico forum!

Without knowning your income, credit history and length, and credit scores from myFICO we would have a very hard time determining whether you would have a shot at approval in 6 months.

Do you mind sharing a few of these details so that we can give you more informed advice based on our collective experiences?

Re: Fidelity Investments American Express

This card was listed by the Nov Consumer Reports as either the best or one of the top three cash back cards.  I would guess that that caused a lot of apps (from non-members of this and similar forums).  I don't know if this will allow them to increase their approval level (making the card harder to get).

I applied a few weeks ago, got a "we will let you know in 30 days" notice.  I sort of forgot about it, until about a week later I got a notification from Credit Sesame(I think) that I had a new account, and it showed the new card and CL. The card and notification from Fidelity (or FIA rather) came two weeks after that!  So not great process communication.

Re: Fidelity Investments American Express

I opend a Fidelity brokerage account for the sole purpose of getting this card. Very simple reward structure. So far, I LOVE it.

Re: Fidelity Investments American Express

It's a good cash-back card and it's one that isn't mentioned very often. Recently they killed off the best benefit of the card (1:1 transfer into aeroplan miles), but even as a straight 2% cash back card with no AF, it still remains decent.

Re: Fidelity Investments American Express

I've had a brokerage account worth about $4,500 for about two years.  I had my 401K in it for a while but rolled it out earlier this year.  I didnt' know if they would be able to take that into consideration when underwriting.  I have two apps this month if I have a chance I'll app for this now or wait.  My fico score is what worries me I think it would auto-decline me as it isn't the best.  Would like to hear some thoughts thanks for the replies thusfar.

Re: Fidelity Investments American Express

It definately cant hurt. I say go for it and if you don't get it; garden. The number of new accounts and inquiries on your report are hurting you most right now
