Dont be. The AMEX Plat has a $450 AF that comes with a lot of perks. So the $450 you;re paying is for all the perks. But the perks themselves outweighs the $450 if you travel a lot, stay in hotels, car rentals etc

I still dont consider myself a high roller and I dont know anyone who is rich lol. Im just a normal person who wants the most back for my dollar.
