I finally ened up paying for the services here at myfico
my scores as of today:
TU 690
EQ 672
EX 683
All say good payment history, amount of debt, and amount of new credit.
They say NOT GOOD on length of credit history.
Average age of accounts= 2 years
Oldest= almost 5 years
1 recent missed payment 10 months ago
2 total accounts showing missed payment of 30 days
total student loans owed- --100,000
total debt owed on accounts- 578... will be paying down to $100
My question is, are these good to apply for certain cards?
I am looking to get a cc with a decent limit.
Note: I applied online for BoA visa platinum plus and was denied. I had to put unemployed and $0 for my income because I start my job in early March and recently graduated college.
Thanks!
What is hurting you Craig are the lates
I would first try to send some goodwill letters and try to get it removed
that late of 10 months is really hurting you a lot especially in today's economic times
If you can not wait, I would try a credit union. Take your report into a CU manager and see if they can work with you. You can also try for a Nordstrom card and if given the store card, it will be upgraded to a visa after 6months of good behavior.
I would also think about getting a bofa secured card. It will convert to an unsecured card after 9-12 months.
There are some other options like national city because your TU is the highest ad they pull TU but that 10 month old late is hurting your chances a lot.
Hope this helps and keep us updated
check out some credit unions. Most of the national ones pull EQ.
Thanks.
I definitely knew I did the wrong this there when I applied. I should have waited. Thanks!
Anyone know a letter template or if I can simply call the company to get the late payment off? I currently don't even oew anything on the account. Thanks
total of 3 baddies on my report
1 30 day latein November 2007... paid it off and closed acct
2 30 day lates (10 months ago and one about 2 years ago)
Question is: Should I send a goodwill letter to any of these? What are the chances of getting them dropped (especially the one in 2007 that I closed the account?) or are they still too recent?
Thanks!
Craig
do a search on here with the search terms of " examples gw letters"
Read some and pick the best for you
Also go to the rebuilding credit forum and they will be able to help you and give you more responses.
Also do a search for the credit card company name and success gw
Hope this helps
Edit to add: Your chances are 50/50. You never know until you try.
However it will be 100% no if you dont try
Also yes goodwill them now
