Signed into my account today, and the offer to upgrade to Walmart Discover popped up (account has been open since 7/07). Also noticed the following language on agreement to upgrade:
In order to use your new Walmart Discover card, you must call to activate it upon receipt. Once activated, your existing account will be CLOSED and any existing balance on your Walmart Credit Card account will be transferred to your new Walmart Discover Card account. If you do not call to activate your new Walmart Discover card, after 90 days your Walmart Discover card account will be CLOSED. Your existing Walmart Credit card account will remain open.
I accepted the offer. The only bummer is, my existing Walmart credit line was $4500 (after most recent CLI 6/12). My new Discover limit is $4600 Oh well....
I wouldn't be too upset, you got a $100 CLI and an upgrade to a discover card
Not really upset....every little bit counts. My glass is half full, not half empty. Was wondering if I would EVER get the upgrade offer.
Congrats, can't believe it took them so long. You will auto cli too. I have gotten probably 3 since switching to discover, some after 2 months.
congratz! i can't wait for mine to show up....
Oh man, I just accepted my upgrade but it only went from $1524 to $2500.
Will this kill my AAoA? It's only around4 years anyway.
Boohoo.

Does this mean I can simply not use it and no credit bureaus will know, hency my AAoA won't be affected?

No, it just means ifyou change your mind about the upgrade, just don't activate card new card, and the original (store) card will remain open. Upon activation of the news card, the existing account will be closed. The confirmation e-mail says "if for any reason you do not want the new account, please do not activate the Walmart Discover card and call us immediately."
Congrats!! Man I have a long time to wait till I get the offer. What's the average amount of time it takes to get the upgrade offer?
