I am trying to decide whether to apply for a Fingerhut card or not. I have 2 tradelines on my report now which are active and one from a closed CC account which will fall off in 3 years. I am very eager to have new tradelines but am not sure if Fingerhut is going to maybe give me buyers remorse or really be worth it. It doesn't report to EX in my understanding. Beyond that I don't really see the downside to adding this account to my credit reports. Any insight? Thanks...
Try Gettington.com. It is also Webbank and their prices are better for the exact same merchandise. They will probably give you a higher initial limit than Fingerhut.
Fingerhut merchandise is a rip off.
They do not report to all 3 cb's.
I would try for another GE card or secured card until scores are up.
I bought some pillows years ago when I had them. Just garbage "merchandise".
As others have said, the merch is crap, over priced, and they do not report to EX
Does Gettington.com report to 3 credit bureaus or just 2 as well?
IDK about gettington
I would recommend secured cards.

If you had no credit cards and wanted a first card I would say go for it, but seriously you would be taking a step backwards. I started with Fingerhut so I could get to the point of adding other cards. Don't do it. I wouldn't. Overpriced merchandise, insane shipping, only reports to two bureaus. I do not see an advantage for you.
Both Fingerut and Gettington report only to TU and EQ. While they dont report to experian I would say someone looking to establish or turn their credit around, wont be hurt by having these accounts. My scores in six months have gained 40 points and I believe it because of these two accounts.I started building credit 9 years ago (I always paid cash for stuff and thought that was perfect credit till I tried to buy a home!)
Also they give decent CLI after two billing cycles. Yes they are for the most part overpriced (gettington is $10-$30 cheaper) you can find coupons on retailmenot.com to offset the price hike. I buy from both and have not been disappointed yet some of their stuff is actually pretty nice. But I do read all reviews before I purchase something which maybe why I have no negatives about this company.
