You might be right. Though I've seen some with success after some serious persistence.  I'd do it anyway and try. I even GWed a collection agency that everyone claims is one of the worst. Begged them to remove my 2 years ago paid collection and poof a few weeks later it mysteriously vanished...

Yeah, I keep getting the offers for a 2nd First Premier card too.  I peel off the "fake" card in the letter and give it to my daughter to put in her purse as her "credit card". 

I'm considering firing this card, so DEFINITELY not considering opening a second account and giving them another $178 in fees for a piddly $300CL.

I definitely agree with soccermom.  Who wants another card with all of the fees.
