My daughter will be turning 18 soon so I've had some conversations with her about credit. Any suggestions for her first credit card and does she have a chance of getting an unsecured card? I'm going to guess she makes a little over $10K per year.
Is she going to be a college student? There are some good student cards available.
Does she have a job/income? edit: I see you listed ~10k in income.

I'll assume you've added her to a few of your cards as an AU? If so, it will be easy for her to get a nice card. Discover student comes to mind. My 19 year old step daughter got a Student Discover, USAA cash rewards and a Navy Federal Cash rewards. After being an AU for 6 months on some of my cards. The Discover gave her the highest SL at $800. I also instructed her to do the $500 SSL through Alliant.
I would suggest a small secured card. Cap One, Discover, something that has a chance to graduate. The biggest mistakes I made were in the first year after I started getting credit.
When my Daughter started college I made her an AU on my Discover, since closed, then added her to my Amex EDP and Chase FU.
she is in her 3rd year and has preappprovals from Amex, Chase and Citi.
I told her she can app for her own card when she graduates and has her first full-time job.
So having your Daughter as an AU is a good option to start out with.
I don't have any kids lol
BUT, I did add my sister as an AU to my Capital One Quicksilver a few years ago when she turned 19 and she is also AU on my Platinum as of earlier this year. She was able to sweep up a nice Cap One card on her own a few months ago since she had some history with my QS.
With only 10k a year, Cap One would seem to be the way to go (at least to test the waters). You'd prolly want to add her to one of your cards as AU too (Even if you don't give her the actual card).
I'll probably add her as an AU to one of my cards to help her have a score. Does it matter that we don't live in the same house?
I think Discover would be great.
