Great idea!

Hey everyone, really useful prequal site for ALL issuers, http:/www.scamme.tu  just enter name, address, SSN and, for security, full details of one of your existing credit cards.

So I tried the link and said I'm qualified for First Premier. Seems like a really attractive offer.

On a serious note, please be cautious where you enter your info.

Re: Food for thought!

I think prequalify sites are secure sites, i.e. using https protocol. May be we should keep an eye on that.

?   https just secures the communication between the browser and the server.  Says little about the authenticity of the site.

ETA: authenticity in the sense of it being a non-malicious site.

I agree. But usually if some scammer posts a link it will not be a https link.

Make sure you check the SSL certificate.  Most prime lenders if not all use extended validation 3rd party certificates from reputable Certificate Authorities.  The Extended Validated SSL certs are typically green in the address bar and if you click on the certificate information, it should tell you the company it's assigned to, ie Citigroup, Inc.  They require higher levels of corporate validation in order to acquire the certificate.

Personal and Business Cards: 31 with 763k
High Limit Cards: CSP 50k | BoA Cash 81k | NFCU flagship 60k | Penfed Rewards 50k | Aviator Silver 52k

Yes, I agree for those for a particular bank.  But there the advice should always be go to the bank home page and find the preapproval link from there.

I was more thinking of something like cardmatch, where there isn't an obvious institution to check for.
