I just got approved for a Fort Knox Platinum Visa Card and it is awesome. 5% cash back on gas and 1.25% cash back on everything else. And I thought the Penfed Cashback Visa card was one of the few that didnt rotate the categories. I am very happy!!! Starting CL of $2000. I will take it.
The credit card approval was a breeze. I live in California. I am a member of PSECU & Navy Fed, but Fort Knox was alot easier and less of a wait to get a product from them.
what bureau did they pull to join? im interested in joining as well
I had my Experian frozen as well as Equifax and they pulled TU which is my highest. They asked about Experian and I told them it was frozen and they said okay.
What all was involved in the membership/visa application? How many days? Did they ask for proof of income or anything? I know most CU's aren't instant decision kind of places.
thanks!
The membership was$15 and I had to fax them paystubs, soc. security card and drivers license. It only took 2 days for the whole process. I applied online and received a call from them next day that I was approved pending income and identity verification.
Awesome, I think I will hold off for a little bit though. I am flying under the radar because of my new Barclays Travelocity Amex, don't want to rock the boat on that one.
But I will certainly be joining and getting the Platinum Visa as soon as my 6 month "probation" period with Barclays is up.
EDIT: I forgot to say CONGRATS!
Sounds like a credit union that's hard to get into and hard to get out of...
Sorry. Just had to throw out a lame Fort Knox joke.
That was a good one Fico!!!!! LOL
How do you like the Travelocity Amex? What are the scores needed for that card? I have a Juniper MC from Barclays with a 0 balance. Never had any problems with them.
I have the no AF one. I love it! I use Travelocity quite frequently (once to twice a month) and the rewards add up fast. I have only had the card since December of 2010 and I have already gotten over 13,000 points (including the 5,000 first use bonus).
My scores when I got it were in the low low 700's (I think my TU that they pulled was like a 705 at the time). Less than 10% util, no inq's, a few 30 day lates from 04/08. Approved for a $4,500 limit at 19.24% (I never carry anyways, so who cares). Several new accounts from the last 12 months (10 I think).
If you aren't approved, just call in a recon, they are very good about that. I recon'ed my limit up to $5,500 with a 5 minute phone call to a very nice person. BE WARNED though, you can't apply for anything for the next 6 month after you open your account, otherwise they will close it on the spot.
