Haha yea, send your friend(s) a $25 gift and have AMEX pay for it
Thanks for the link!

Just my luck.
We're sorry, but the promotion code you entered is not valid or has expired. Please check to make sure that you entered the correct code and try again or call Customer Service at 1-866-207-7970 (International 1-801-849-2000).
My take on the prepaid is that AMEX wants to attract more customers but do nto want to risk thier money. So they give you a prepaid and see how you use it and then night consider giving you an anvite for a charge card.

Funded it at time of purchase. What's their usual turn around time?

I forget exactly but it was around 10 days.
Once the initial ACH transfer clears, then it was a few days after that: first class mail delays as they shipped it close to immediately at that point.
CS800: Yeah, that's the theory regarding the pre-paid cards, I'm just running most of my food expenses through it and we'll see what they do with it at the six and twelve month marks if their "Make your Move" program is legit.
Edit: extra period, yay!

Can you load the card with an existing AmEx?

Don't know, I think they'd count it as a cash advance if you could, which might be bad mojo?
