Free FICO from Discover CLI Request

Have done this several times and want to share it with everyone here.

For Discover card holders, no matter whether you can process the CLI request online, you can always request CLI by calling Discover's customer service. Navigate into the CLI automatic service and you will be asked several questions before the system decides whether the CLI will be granted or not. I have done this five times in the past six months and I was declined every single time. However, Discover each time mailed me a letter explaining why I was declined with a TU FICO score on it.

I have not seen any hard pull from my credit karma account. However, do not proceed to talk to a specialist after being declined by the system since this may result in a hp.

I would suspect that it may also hurt your chances of getting a CLI ever. If your constantly asking for one and ignoring why they told you no it just comes across as desperate.

I agree with this; it's abberent behavior compared to the vast majority of folks under the bell curve.  If getting a free FICO score is important, one's far better off simply opening an account with DCU, or picking up a Wally or Merrick card.

I think people do more damage than they realize with some of the ways we try to skirt around the system, this one in my estimation falls into that category.
