Freedom 13.99 APR Odds/Credit Score?

Hello everyone. I have a quick question. I started rebuilding back in January. I check the chase pre-qual site religiously. Well it used to pop up with nothing. Then feb I got a couple shopping card trick cards (comenity), got approved for Barclays reward at 1300 @19.99 in april, NFCU 25k @~14% in July. Well in June, Chase prequal site starts showing slate and freedom both @22% apr, but i have been holding out for Saphire Pref. Well My NFCU recently reported first statement to my credit report and magically next day, chase prequal site now shows me Saph Pref at the standard 15.99%. To my suprise, the slate offer dropped from 22 to 17.99% and the Freedom dropped to 18.99%. I know Freedom has another apr tier of 13.99% . Because i want both saphire and freedom and want to do both apps almost back to back to see if i am lucky enough to only get off with one hard pull like some people have. My question is, how many people have gotten the Freedom at 13.99%? I really want the 13.99% (who wouldnt). Should I give it a month or two to see if the APR offer changes? What are the odds of that heppening? What are the odds for getting Freedom at 18.99% and having chase drop it in a year after intro period to 13.99?.

Re: Freedom 13.99 APR Odds/Credit Score?

I have no experience with Chase, this is what I have heard on the forum. You are far more likely to get better terms with your second Chase card, think have had first card for a few statements at least. Also, getting them to drop your APR is almost impossible. I would suggest pulling the trigger on the CSP as their prequal is accurate and working on the minimum spend. Meanwhile wait on the freedom to show up with your target apr and wait for the $200 bonus, read 20k points if you have a CSP. THis is my plan but I have to wait on the CSP to show up. I also might get a slate transfer a balance and then pay it off to see if that helps...

I got the Freedom at 13.99% in Nov 2013.  I think a lot of people here have the lowest level (and of course lots of people have higher rates!).   The CSP one is the same for all at time of application

Re: Freedom 13.99 APR Odds/Credit Score?

I applied for a Freedom in June and got approved with an 18.99% APR. My credit scores were in the mid 700's and a credit history that went back almost 7 years. I wouldn't count on getting the lowest rate, but YMMV.

Re: Freedom 13.99 APR Odds/Credit Score?

The lowest rate is rare and is more a factor of elitist high aaoa, or if you have low aaoa you could get it BUT also get a low limit.

If you need to revolve a balance, a 0% card for 12+ months is the best bet.

13.99% isn't really all that low anyhow.

Re: Freedom 13.99 APR Odds/Credit Score?

I app'd last March/April for the Freedom.  It is my only Chase CC.  I was approved for 7k @ 13.99%.   I am not sure what my CS was at the time, they didn't give it to me.

Chase is not known for reducing the APR once you get a card.  With the lowest interest rate so high, I don't think it makes much difference what interest rate you get.  However, I have read that if you want the Freedom Siggy card, you need the lowest APR (plus a 5k+ limit).

Re: Freedom 13.99 APR Odds/Credit Score?

My card is the middle APR and came as a visa signature with a 7.5k limit. I think you just need to be above a 5k limit.

You want to shoot for a mid 700s FICO score and few credit inquiries, but even that may not be a guarantee.

Re: Freedom 13.99 APR Odds/Credit Score?

They are offering me the Freedom at 13.99. I have no Chase expierence,  EX Fako(Credit.com) 739. Approx 2 yrs credit history. Just trying to decide if I really want it.  Really not ready for a possible double pull.
