Freedom card signature?

I recently closed my CSP because I've got too many cards with similar rewards that don't have the fee.  Anyways, they allowed me to consolidate some of my limit to my existing freedom card.  If I order a replacement freedom card (because mine's getting worn anyhow) will I receive a signature card automatically now that my limit is 6.5k?  It was a 3k limit previously.  I just want to know if it's been something that you have to request in your experience.  Thanks for any tips!

Re: Freedom card signature?

If you order a replacement you get a replacement!   You will need to ask for it to be converted to a sig

Re: Freedom card signature?

getting it converted to a v siggy card is hard. Almost impossible. Just ask they will tell you if your eligible or not. Honestly most likely not. I ONLY got my upgraded because I contacted the EO and they reviewed some phone calls over a CSR miss informing me. Just a couple things to keep in mind. that the eo told me. The card MUST be at least 12 months old and once its convereted it must stay a freedom card for another 12 months before it can be PCd again, and the amount you charge and payment history is taken into account. Missing payments basically makes you ineligible for the upgrade. It is still worth asking you never no. Worst they say no. and remmember YMMV

Only if you've had it 12months or more.

Right, so consider also whether it is worth the effort.  If you have another sig already, probably not  (and if you don't have a sig already, also probably not, but that's my bias!)  I know some people want each of their cards to be the highest tier possible, but IMO that's sometimes too much work for way too little gain.

If the account is older than 12 months, send a Secure Message on the website asking for the upgrade.  They will respond that an "Account Specialist" will contact you about your request but thery never do. A new Freedon Visa Signature card just comes in the mail in about three weeks.

Re: Freedom card signature?

Not sure what is so "hard" about having it converted to a signature. I just got mine increased to a 10k limit, and asked about the PC to a signature. Since I've been with them over a year, they just did it. Didn't even have to push.

Re: Freedom card signature?

I've had my Freedom since 2002. It was a MC until they chipped it and changed the number, now it's a Visa. What are the benefits of Signature that people are interested in, or is it just something cool to have (and get them to give to you)?

Visa Signature benefits: https://usa.visa.com/visasignature/benefits.jsp

I inquired to have my Freedom changed to a Signature back in November and the CSR said it technically already was in the system, they were just waiting for my card to get closer to expiration to send me a new one with the word underneath the logo.  That came in February.
